Dunnell/Westfield Wiring Looms

Help please

Can anyone reassure me that I am connecting the correct wires when joining Dunnell's loom to the Westfield's.

I am worried about the connection from the coil plug on the Dunnell loom to the connection on the Wetfield loom.  Can anybody identify the correct Westfield ones?

I can bolt things together but electrics not so good.

My Westfield loom does not have a connection for an IMS/ECU.

Also I have just put 7" x 15" 195/50s on and the cycle wing supports are tight up against the sidewalls.  Is there room for adjustment or is it a case of brute strengh to bend them away from the tyres.  Or is it acceptable to have longer studs and spacers (I have cortina uprights.)

Thanks

taken from the manual  for vx/zetec using engine management the two wires that would normally connect to the ignition coil i.e one white and one white/black will be required to power up an additional engine wiring loom  ;)

Are you sure that you don't have the ECU connection? It should be located on the right hand of the tunnel. It is one of those AMP four point connectors  I have a the Dunnell engine management loom ( for carbs, not throttle bodies ).  A I remember, the Westfield connection has a cable for permenant live , fuel, switchable live (ignition) and tacho.  The permenant live needs to power the fuel circuit.  I routed this through a relay.  The coil side of the relay also has power from the ignition and earths through the ECU.  The tacho output just connects to the tacho cable from  the loom and the permenant cable also goes to the ECU (I think).

Sorry, I am at work at the mo and it has been about three months since I did that wiring.

Should be OK how much do you need? I thing Halfords do some spacers 5mm might do it. What's the offset of the wheels?

an alternative to bending the cycle wing supports would be to get some from Tiger Racing as these use the Cortina dust cover bolt holes and can therefore be easily spaced to sit square over the tyre without bending etc    ;)  :D

Thanks to all that replied to my first ever posting.

Bananaman - 5mm will indeed be enough clearance.  I needed to put longer studs on the front hubs to take the alloys.  I bought the alloys from Westfield's with the recommended E35 offset.

Thanks adam123 I do indeed have white/black low tension -ve and white low tension +ve wires on the Westfield loom.

Does the Dunnell Coil Plug pin number 1 join to white +ve live feed and pin number 3 join to the low tension negative wire? Or am I missing something in between.

This Westfield project of mine has been on going for quite a while now so things may have moved on since I bought the bits

Pembroke Pat were you on night shift posting a reply that late?

Again thank you in advance
