Kevin Pullen Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Maybe im missing something but where should the questionnaire be sent back to? Quote
Captain Colonial Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I managed to miss the survey question after accidentally throwing the address slip away and the recycling man getting it before I could retrieve it. Can anyone enlighten me? Something to do with reducing magazine frequency? Quote
Terry Everall Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 The club seems to be suffering a little from reduced membership fees and a large cost is production of the glossy mag The question is whether it should be circulated in pdf format or remain as it is with maybe the need to increase subs to cover the hard copy. Also discussed is the need for 4 or 6 issues per year Quote
Kevin Pullen Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 I agree with electronic format myself Paul asks in this months mag to return to him but there is no address on the questionnaire to send back to and im sure Paul doenst want his home address published in an open forum. Quote

Also discussed is the need for 4 or 6 issues per year Thanks Terry, much appreciated. Personally, I'd be happier with a PDF format so I could archive and search them easier with less bulk. I'd also be fine with 4 issues per year if they contained more info and articles. They currently can be a bit thin if there's not enough and deadlines have to be met. Members should be encouraged (i.e., incentivised) to contribute articles and photos to the magazine. What those incentives might be (stickers, merchandise, time added on to membership, smack upside the head, etc.) is up to someone else to decide - just a thought to get more into the magazine. My 2p... Quote
AdamR Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Return address by paper is in the 2nd paragraph on 3rd column: WSCC Glebe House Shebdon Staffs ST20 0PT Or email pauledden[@t]hotmail[dot]com Questions are: 1. Do you have access to the internet? Yes/no 2. Are you able to open and read PDF format files? Yes/no 3. Would you prefer to receive magazine in online or current paper format? Online/print 4. Are you prepared to pay a higher membership to continue receiving print format? Yes/no 5. If you prefer printed version, would you be happy to receive 4 issues a year instead of 6? 4/6 6. pistonbroke Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Liverpool MC do it in PDF and make a good job of it to But what of those members who dont have pewters ? must be a fair few . No problem with 4 issues per year here or raising the fees to cover costs Also think the membership renewal needs sorting judging from the number of "members" who are recently in arrears there must be a cash flow problem from that Quote
Kevin Pullen Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 Done and sorted Note to self, must learn to read small print Quote
Rory's Dad Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Yes I like the magazine for dipping in and out off whether its in the sitting room or by the bog. A pdf version would change all that. Rory's Dad Quote

peterg Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Take the laptop into the bog if it's that important to read it is it only us Premier members that get the PDF version at the moment then Quote
lippydave Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I'ma bit of a traditionalist and like something tangible to hold in yer hands whislt yer sat in the smallest room... So would like to keep a hardcopy version if possible? Maybe quarterly hardcopy with a little bit more diversity of content? Without meaning to sound overly critical, some of the area round-ups are a lttle bit dry, matter of fact and clinical..... I know it's easier to criticise than contribute, and there are some interesting articles splatted around occasionally. Think the current mag needs a little more active participation from members other than just the AO's? More technical articles and some how-to's.....I guess this would be easier to include in a web based format? Trying to be constructive rather than critical... Quote
adam1330 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 The club seems to be suffering a little from reduced membership fees .... Looking at the 'Have you renewed' thread, I wonder if maybe the reason the membership has reduced is because I believe there are not reminders sent out(am I correct on this?), hence no one is renewing as they don't realise they have to? I don't know if I am out of membership or not, I know we always used to get a reminder. Quote
