Like the car and like the ethos of the company.

Not for me, went 15 miles down the road to see a G27 with my dad before we built the Westfield when they were based in Essex...then they went up North.

different company really, the 'heritage' Ginettas G15, G12   , G4    can all be maintained from DARE UK still based in Essex  :p    clicky

Oi.........

What about the G27 and G33

I had a G27, pretty car, rare as it had a John Eales V8 in it (boy was that a tight fit) with a TVR T5 box and , frightening quick, superb handling, sorely missed (I rolled it  :p )

Well Buzz, next time you're over there, ask LNT for a set of G4 or G12 body panels will you....  :p

they tried to keep the connection going by buying into Spadge's Ginetta Heritage business but that seems to have gone down the tubes now so if you have an older model or want one then DARE are the only place to go

oh and comparing the Walklett Bros operation to Robin Hood does them a great disservice, they produced cars that were true giant killers in their time the G4 especially so whilst being very much a cottage industry they were by no means lacking in performance or design  ;)

I suspect the comparison was the owners between the Walkletts and LNT.

Dare is owned and run by the Walkletts, so arguably has far more to do with the spirit of Ginettas of the 60s than the current Ginetta company do.

To me the appeal of small British marques is in the charm of a small scale cottage business run by enthusiasts for the love of cars rather than businessmen for profit.

Westfield, Caterham, Lotus, TVR, Marcos - they've all passed on from people with true passion and vision to companies looking to make cash and build empires and are no longer the companies that they were.

At least LNT are making a good go of it, but I'd far rather have a G4 than a G40R and far rather go to the dusty old Dare sheds in Essex for some instant coffee and tyre kicking session than the slick, shiny LNT factory for bottled water and a guided tour. Especially now they have that daft rebadge Farbio in the line up.

They really ought to bring back the old days when British sports car ruled the world and rioting only happened in one place at a time.

Some good points in there Sam but for me progress keeps the brand alive its a shame the rest of the british motor industry didn't do the same but as with the old Ginetta’s that’s should be left to the back street enthusiasts and good look to the.

As for Pete & mention of the Walkett Bros I was taking about their business model in that it seemed they had no ambition nor get investment to make the brand become better and far wider ranging. I wasn't talking about their engineering prowess Ginetta as you rightly say have had some giant killing days and are having them again when they introduce the G50 in th the Euro GT 4 endurance a lot of the Aston, Porsche & Ferrari boys were whinging that  the G50's were have the price and beating them. As usual the FIA imposed restrictions on performance for the Ginetta gippos and the story goes on.... either way at least the brand is stronger and Laurence has a passion for it and wants to progress into Le-Mans and has already done it with an LMP2 car under the Zytek banner and 'Our Nige' went and binned it.
