OK,

So there is a radio program on radio4 on Thursdays called "Am I Normal" when I drive home, and I just thought "does this apply to me"?

MOT's overdue and I SORN'd the car this month. I wanted to check the back shocks for leakage tonight and forgot until just now. So off with the good clothes and on with the car-working-stuff.....

Except it's too bl00dy hot and I couldn't be  arsed phaphing about so just put my dressing gown on instead and checked the shocks.

Laying under the car in my dressing gown and underpants it occurred to me "Would anyone else think this weird"?

So am I normal? Or just normal for a Westfield owner?  :D

Cheers

Or, on the other hand...

Is owning up to wearing a dressing gown enough to get me band from this site? :p  :p

You're normal, apart from your unnatural desire to blurt out things you really should keep to yourself to avoid your friends taking the p*ss out of you.

All things taken in to consideration, the fact that you listen to R4 means you are a good egg and therefore should be allowed the odd oddity...

Ah...

But...  have you NEVER found yourself either laying under the car with some unutterable fluid dripping into your hair? Or, breaking your back bending over to work on a "small job" on the engine that takes HOURS? Or driving without the car hood on in the pouring rain, wearing a tee-shirt, smiling like a loon at the laughing children in the car pulled up to you next the the traffic lights, thinking WHY-OH-LORD? WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?  :D

Then the rain clears up, the engine is running sweetly  and roars at the touch of the accelerator (gas peddle :D ), the tires squeal, the  seat back slams into your spine and then....

Cheers

Earlier this year we had a blocked gutter above our conservatory.....

In the middle of a really heavy downpour water was cascading down onto the conservatory and making a right racket......

Much to wife and children's amazement and disgust, I stripped down to my boxers, and climbed out barefoot through the bedroom window and sidled across the conservatory rafters.... Pulled out the drainpipe, getting a facefull of dirty gunky water, leaves and the silty debris blocking the gutter....Emptied the down pipe, climbed back in , showered, dried off, and sorted..... :t-up:

Think it may have mentally scarred the neighbours if they had happened to look out....

Or the thought of some dutiful neighbour caling the police  :t-up:
