Rik of the Westy Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Having seen the grannies on TG doing donuts in the Honda I thinking about giving my old Avons a decent send off in a carpark somewhere before switching to Yokos. A couple of questions Do you need an LSD for donuts? How do you do donuts? Quote
DAVE O Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 mmm donuts. Five for a pound at tesc*s. They might get the A*** if you start chucking them about in their carpark though!! However an Lsd will help you to get both wheels spinning. Full lock and a load of revs with a dumped clutch should do the trick. I prefere Sainsb**ys dognuts!! Dave O. Quote
Bananaman Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Look here Previous post on how to do donuts LSD required! Andy Quote
Rob Navin Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Dave As a Sainsburys employee thanks for the endorsement. I personally have no preferences....... All Donuts are fantastic. Quote
mmmmdonuts Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 mmmm, donuts. So, having read the other post, I should be able to get a couple of times round before stopping (with no LSD)? Quote
Graham.J Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Yer, just keep the throttle balanced to keep traction broken and you should be fine. Those grannies were awesome, good old Russ Swift. Quote
Blatman Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Nope. Without an LSD, the best you'll be able to do will be a 180............. Quote
studbuckle Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 180? Pah! depends on the surface. I can donut my x-flow with standard Live axle, given a loose surface and/or wet tarmac Quote
Blatman Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 "Standard axle"........ You sure it's not an LSD? Mind you, doing 'nuts in the wet or on a loose surface is too easy On a dry surface, from a standing, or slightly rolling start, you need an LSD to get more than 180-210 degrees. You might, just get a complete 360, but that'll be it......... I'd be happy to demonstrate........ Quote
Jon Murray Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 I agree with Blatters. After watching Juan Solo try donuts at Elvington before he had an LSD fitted it proved to me conclusively that without the ability to light both tyres (on tarmac) you will never be able to donut a car. Since then he has had a nice tight LSD fitted and no longer has such problems.. or so I'm told. Que Mr Arnold.... Jon Quote
Blatman Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 I agree with Blatters. Not you too....... What with Matt and Steppenwolf agreeing with me too this week, I'm starting to get a complex.............. Quote
