Just got back from an amazing tour of the South Dakota region of the USA. Stayed in a town called Custer with 8 other 7 nuts. Amazing country for seven touring, so many winding roads, hairpins, switchbacks and just enough straightaways to get up a head of steam before the next twisty bit. Spent 5 days with a great bunch of guys and of course we talked , what else, cars.. some of our Wives came along and put up with our non stop car chatter. All in all, Linda and I did about 2500 miles on this trip, the only glitch was a broken Altenator bracket which was repaired by a local mechanic who had us back on the road the same day.

Hope this link works.

My birth state, South Dakota.  The scenery is stunning, but by God the winters are awful and the summers can be lethal.

Fun but strangely unsurprising fact: More TNT was used to create Mount Rushmore than was dropped by the US Army Air Force on Germany in WWII.

You are right about the Summers, oh Lord, we near fried. 94F and nowhere to run to when you are burning along in the Westie. At the end of each days run we headed for the local watering hole for Happy Hour, $2 a beer man did we give it some welly. We also did a day at the Crazy Horse Monument, now that is going to be one hell of a big sculpture when its finished!!
