Unless their is a very good reason to reinvent the wheel it may be better to stick with one of the more conventional engine choices. If its just because you want to the best of luck. Quote

matt_c Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I have the 240bhp tfsi engine in a Leon Cupra and it's a lot of fun when the turbo kicks in, but in my opinion I don't think I want that kind of power delivered like that in a Westfield. Just my opinion and preference and I'm sure plenty will have strong opinions on this. Matt Quote

JohnBlenk Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Until last year, I had a Skoda Octavia VRS which had a Revo remap to around 270bhp and nearly 300lbft of torque. It pulled superbly, so I can only begin to imagine how quick it would be in a Westfield ! The only downer was the annodyne exhaust note, but I am sure that could be sorted. Main issue will be heat from the turbo, but I guess there are plenty of members with experience of this with Cosworth turbos. Quote

AdamR Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Got one of these engines in my Octavia too - also with a Revo map. The delivery is very smooth providing you don't use the throttle pedal like a light switch, and it pulls like a train, would be crazy fast in a Westy. The Cupra uses the K04 turbo which is larger than the K03 in the Octavia, plus when combined with the standard map that might explain the peaky delivery. However, as said, I think the power delivery is more 'natural' from an NA engine and thus more suited to such a light car Westy. Edit: Seems the vRS is very popular amongst Westy owners! Bonkers fuel pressure and just asking to go wrong if you ask me. Quote
