Tubs Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 In respect to your mother not having insurance I would have expected the party that started the fire to pay. Now I know you say the pikeys have done a runner but that must mean the property was rented in which case it's not actually the Pikeys who are liable but the landlord. He should have insurance. Kind regards, Tubs Quote
Rab (bombero) Reid Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Sadly I think you'll find that suspecting (albeit strongly) someone and proving it are poles apart. The cause may be apparent but pinning it on an individual will be riddled with problems .. Quote
V 8 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Steve, only just read this m8. I'm not that far away from you. Labouring, shovelling, barrowing, drilling, screwing, gofering, making tea, drinking it......... give me a shout buddy, no probs. Quote

Kind regards, Tubs I am not certain that this is the case. If you do something that burns down next door you do it as occupant a personal liability. Landlords are not responsible for the actions of their tenants. Unfortunately it would mean a trip along the by-pass to find the very nice people who did this and then ran. Quote
SteveD Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 thanks again for all the offers it really is very very much appreciated ,managed to sort the waste pipes today so she can have a dump now she's been holding it for 2 days , roof and windows are getting sorted asap there all measured up by a mate and on order, rear of the house is being rebuilt well started in the next few days ,so its all under control i hope ,again thanks ,as for the d**k that started it he is long gone ,but i have spoken to my neighbour (fed) and he says its ok knowing what and who started it ,its proved by the fire investigator that it was a fag end but not so easy proving who dropped it there the house is owned by gypo's and there one big family of scum Quote
Tubs Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 As the fire started on your neighbour's property then spread then which individual started it doesn't matter. However, if it's owned by gypo's then the hardest part will not be proving liability but getting the money. Tubs Quote
