I'm sorry to hear of your troubles but (and it's a big one) there has been a lot of support for you on here in a short space of time so, as I think I've heard before, feel the love.

Also, you have said your mother is too proud to ask for help, don't make her mistake, there have been several offers and I'll add to them, though I'm not sure what I can do from here. People care, so let them help and hopefully your run of bad luck will end.

By the sounds of it this could have been much much worse, fire damage tends to look worse than it is and by the sounds of it the damage has been contained. even though your mum had no insurance it is not the end of the world as she is still there and she has someone like you to love her and help her recover forom this.

As others have said don't be afraid to ask for help from those around you but the trick will be not letting your proud mum be seen by others to be culpable in anyway.

Hopefully the guy you decked will not have reported you to the police.

I wish I lived nearer to offer some hands on practical help, but if a whip round would help I would be happy to chip in.

All the best mate :t-up:

Hi Steve have not met but seen you race also seen the big part you play in keeping us amused and what you offer fellow members. This is one of those things that is sent to try us big time. Have dealt with fires in the past when and know that in normal times it is shocking but with other dimensions of your mums case it is really bad. Pickeys try alot of us and always run away. At least your mum has a son who can show the wuv.

A lesson to us all to check that our elderly parents have remembered the insurance payment, found my mum hadn't paid when water was pouring through ceiling and me and my brother work in insurance.

You have come to the right place for support so just shout up and see if someone comes along to mend your chassis

Steve,

I'm certain that you'll get through this, but it sounds like a bit of a grind for the immediate future. Apologies if Mike's called you about the VXR ~ he's been stuck in Moscow without internet access (for various reasons) and so would have been unaware of your news.

Gutted for you Steve, been through a fire myself and it's no fun, lots of hard work to get sorted, and that was with insurance. Keep your chin up and shout if you need any help / advice.
