Hi,

I'm about to take the plunge and become a Westfield owner (as soon as the awful British weather allows me to pick it up)! I've been lurking here for a while and have found some of the threads extremely useful, so thanks for all of the knowledge so far.

I've decided on a second-hand car with an aeroscreen (and thus zero weather protection!) and was wondering whether someone could recommened a good quality waterproof rain-cover. I'm not planning on storing it outside permanently, but I'm definitely going to need a couple of weeks or so to clear the garage and thought it would be a handy thing to keep in the boot box in case it starts to rain when I'm parked up out somewhere. It doesn't have to be too heavy duty, since it'll be stored in the garage most of the time, but I would like it to be good quality. The car's in mint condition and I'd like to keep it that way!

I'm assuming something that fits well is the top priority. And are there models that secure via bungee cords or something similar, or do you usually just brick them down?

Many thanks

I paid £30-£40 for mine on eBay, waterproof cover kit car - type in search bar in eBay and you should see some, mine was stored outside under a cover till now I have just built a garage. But I still put my cover over it just to stop dust and the cat sleeping in it lol

i have a Walker st Clare cockpit cover BUT dnt thing they would work on an areo screen model.......... there are some good full covers, not that expensive either......... how good they are ??

Yeah I saw some small cockpit covers, but think I'd prefer a full body one. The only ones I can seem to find just look like glorified tarpaulins. I was hoping for something that would fit snugly and bungee around the wheels or something.

The offical Westfield one looks great, but is £283! Unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch that far! ???

yeah and thats ONLY and indoor cover.... NOT outdoor if thats what you arre looking for

I paid around £100 for a custom indoor cover....... works very well, for a very good outdoor cover try Hamilton Classics ??

Ah yes, that's more what I was looking for, thanks!

Got one of these for my Westy last month and its been living outside underneath it since. Cover fits very well and does a great job of protecting the car.

Had some very bad rain since i got it, the only thing you need to watch out for is rain gathering in the middle (between the rear roll bar and windscreen) but its nothing to worry about.

Soft bits for sevens 'Trackday cover', it's great. Buy mine for £9k and it comes with a free aeroscreened westfield (and indeed a Westfield soft tailored cover for in the garage)...

Hmmmm, that eBay one is tempting but I presume at that price it doesn't have any kind of lining? If it were to flap around in the wind, wouldn't the rough PVC damage the gel coat?

At the moment I'm thinking a few blankets and a cheap, heavy-duty waterproof layer like that eBay one might do the job as well as an expensive £150 one  :suspect:

And yes, I hadn't noticed but that Westfield one says for indoor use only! Mad! :p

And nice Gnomepage Juan, I enjoyed reading your Westfield experiences!

if you are still looking for one, i'm trying to shift mine. its the one from ebay linked above. only had it on the car once before i had her in the garage. comes in a bag like that and its quite solid, like the wind wont move it around. i can put it up on ebay with buyit now for 22 quid if you are interested.

The Halfrauds All Seasons Small Car Cover is pretty good. Add a cheap broomstick from your local pound shop with something soft gaffertaped to one end stuck between the seat and tunnel raises the cover and stops it sinking in between the roll bar and windshield/aeroscreen.
