Dibby Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Ahhh, the joy of the days before you got taxed on company cars? it wasn't THAT long ago However, it was a lot more financially beneficial in those days... when that company stopped giving out company cars (I didn't really do any business mileage) they gave me a £6k salary rise to compensate for having to buy and run my own car Very nice, we're getting £3k to run our own cars here, nobody has taken up the company car scheme. Also as the price of fuel has almost doubled since I started here our fuel allowance has gone up 2p a mile to cover it! Now there's progress in the workplace. Same here, don't really do many company miles, especially now the pence per mile on fuel doesn't really cover it any more. Still, uk.gov want to get cars off the road, they're going about it in the right way, making it too expensive, noticed a big drop in the number of sales guys calling in because they're in the area.
