Hi Guys,

New to the website so thought I would start a new Thread to say hi and share some pics of my car.

I have had my Westy for about a month now, after purchasing it from the for sale section in here. Im upgrading from a Peugeot 306 GTI6 that I have been using for trackdays for the last few years.

My car is a Westfield SEW with a Raceline 190 engine and I Absolutely love it! Still getting used to it as its my 1st RWD drive car and can be quite lively to say the least!

The only changes I have made so far is to replace the wheels with the ones that came off my Peugeot (I only swapped the wheels as they had much better rubber than the ones i purchased the car on, but i think they look quite good now fitted! What do you guys think?) and remove the spare wheel cage at the rear.

I am planning on getting some nice 13" Revolution wheels and tires then time for a track day! Cant wait!

Anyway heres some pics after a clean and some new wheels :)

Hi there - welcome aboard

Car looks really nice - I like the new wheels and would defo keep them over the old ones :t-up:

I would have them painted/powder coated black though or maybe silver :D

its your car though so if you like it that is all that matters - the rest is just personal opinion

happy motoring

WELCOME to WSCC.... cant see pics at work PC lol but will check them out later.... IF you have changed wheels check the offset and ensure they match the Westyfield spec.....

Good luck and once again welcome to WSCC

Thanks for the replys guys!

Cleggy - they will definitely be getting a refurb as they are covered in brake dust that doesn't want to come off. I was thinking about going Gunmetal grey or silver with them when I do.

Jay - Luckily the pug wheels had the exact offset and PCD as the originals. They are a different width but its thinner so they fit quiet nicely :)

These wheels will only be used for road as I will be running 13s for track.

Are 195/50/15 generally OK for use with Westfields? It had 205/50/15s on it originally so its only the width that has changed.

them 195's are fine for westy use (dependant upon what sorta horses you are kicking out) although 205 obviously look a bit more beefy and will ultimately give more grip

if changing to 13" rims you will find quite a few run 205's on the rear and 185's on the front (6" to 7" rims common)

liking your idea on the gun metal grep - although you do  realise you will have to get the roll bar sprayed to match  :p

Yes I did think about the roll bar colour but im still thinking of getting a full cage fitted so will see what happens :)

Welcome Andy and enjoy the forum/club

Liking the Pug wheel more, but like others, I'd say nicer in black or silver. The 306 is a fun car indeed and it's road holding capabilities are renowned. You'll obviously find the westy a lot different, but boy, it's just as much fun! Happy blatting!  ;)

Nice car wheels are personnal preference but both ok.

Ditto the plate your better of not having one than having an illegal one IMHO.

Funny that they can read it on ANPR to say it nots legal though.

There seems to be a certain amount of judgement used as far as number plates on Seven type cars go, (though you'll always get "letter of the law" jobsworths); the key thing seems to not be seen to be taking the p**s    :suspect: A little smaller than standard, to fit the nose width, with as close to standard font size as will practically fit seems to get ignored. Very tiny plates like yours may be a different matter though...

It is true though, no plate is less of an offence than non standard.

Wheels, sooooo much a personal taste thing,  :D  but as everyone's adding their two pennyworth,  :p Both sets have there appeal. Not the biggest fan of all black (or graphite) wheels on an all black car, but black or graphite with a pollished rim really sets them off against the black bodywork, in your case would also match in with the other brightwork - should you keep it.  :D

Number plate will be getting swapped soon, it came on the car. Need to sort some way of mounting a new rear plate now that the spare wheel bracket is gone. Its not got any rear plate at the minute!

Haha mixed opinions on the wheels I see! I had the same reaction when I showed my friends they seem to be a bit marmite. The Compomotives are definately growing on me the more I look at them though.

Velcro for the number plate.  Easily taken off for track days if you need to :)
