I'm thinking about making the westie road legal again and have a "spare" policy for a car I sold which has 5 years NCB on it, and if I don't insure something I'll lose the NCB.

So has anyone found an insurer who will handle the westie and let you continue to gain (or at least will maintain) NCB?

all the usual suspects {sureterm / pickles / flux} do just a 12month policy with no build up of no claims, but as I only pay £140 per annum for the westy not really thought about NCB

You'll find Dave and his team at MSN will give you the finest service available. They are a very small company and fully understand the meaning of keeping customers by goos service.

Before I moved to France I was with MSN. Before that I was with AF but when I wanted to increase the annual mileage the abuse and price rather surprised me. So instead of just renewing as I had for many years I shopped around and found MSN.

When my car got to 15 years old the built in continental recovery ceased. Dave searched around and found an RAC policy for not a lot. A few weeks later the clutch went in the middle of France. The RAC said I had no cover. Dave and his team went into overdrive and sorted it. Turned out the rep who had dealt with the policy hadn't sent it in to HQ yet.

I'm sure many others would have just shrugged and told me to sort it out with the RAC

MSN may not be the cheapest but they are the best value for money.
