Captain Colonial Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ...not any more! Just got the call I've been waiting for - after 49 long days off the road, "The Wench" is fully repaired, MOT'd, and being cleaned and polished, ready for collection tomorrow lunchtime! Like a kid on Christmas Eve now, cannot wait! Saw her last Friday and the body shop was doing a fabulous job, so can't wait to see the finished project. Boy I missed that car! Now to fit the high level brake light at the weekend and get back to blatting! Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Wonder if the Cap'n can actually sleep, or if he's pacing up and down waiting for tomorrow lunchtime. Quote
peterg Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 only 3-4 hours now Scott will you be coming to Curborough this weekend at all? I'll be up there around Saturday lunchtime onwards Quote
lippydave Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Scott, If you fancy a nice re-christening blat tonight across the Warks lanes, through Claverdon and Mappleborough Green, up the bypass to Becketts Farm Island in Hollywood (yes really), the monthly car club meet is on at errr, Becketts Farm......cars start arriving from about 5.30pm onwards. Loads of interesting tackle, inluding a few of my mates LS engined monsters... Quote
Captain Colonial Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Hi Peter & Dave Peter, already have a prior commitment on Saturday I'm afraid, so won't be doing Curborough this time around, but hope to catch up with you at some point soon - thanks for the thought, though! Dave, might do that if I can, depends on the short shakedown run back from the body shop to see if there are any minor faults that need sorting first, particularly electrical, don't want to get stranded first time out. Will post a message later if I can make it. Going to install the new wind deflectors this afternoon. Sounds like a nice blat though, thanks for the invite - and yes, I've been to Brummiewood! Have to confess that I was concerned about the dash until yesterday - I had to take the whole thing apart and recover it, and at the same time redo about a dozen connections that had been affected by the impact or were a bit tired. My soldering skills were a bit rusty (combined with the scuttle being disembowelled and replaced), which meant I couldn't test the dash and had to just have faith. Guess I did OK, MOT pass. Cheers gents! Scott Quote
Captain Colonial Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Curborough is on Sunday too Oh yeah... Must have other things on my mind. Maybe then! Quote

Me 'n my wee boy will be there in a black RX8, we'll be parked up with a couple of V8 Escort Cossies, a LS engined Cerb, a V8 Z3 Convertible and a red twin turbo V8 RX7, and another bright orange V8 RX7...... We should be easy to spot, (we'll be the ones with V8 engine envy writ across our faces....).... Quote
