I love the look of the jap import ones, they look so much better than the bug eye UK ones.

However, if that falls through, go for a 1998 onwards car if you can, they have a shorter final drive ratio so are generally a tad quicker.

Ah ok cool I will keep that in mind... my flat mate years ago at uni had one and used to drive it loads, great cars, best FWD handling car so they say... well at least old skool wise lol..... just hope it hasnt sold......

What are power outputs... ie uk spec vs JDM?

I will take this car any day in a track - very cheap - nimble- mid engine & supercharged.

Power outputs are about the same really, 98 on cars had slightly better cams, but were talking next to nothing!

They all come with an LSD,  as mentioned previously, 98 on cars had a 4.7 final drive as oppose to the previous 4.4.

To be honest, the car in the add I dont think is the car for you. Its got some non-standard side skirts which is a bit suspicious and a loud exhaust, which you dont want for a trackday!

I would go for something like this:

Its un-molested and looks a nice clean example. Just stick some decent brake pads in it and give it a whirl on track. :t-up:

Since we keep sliding off topic anyway, what kind of mpg would you get out of an ITR on normal road use?

good question, and tax too. they look a bit different and look like they would make a decent fun daily drive.

Only had 300 ish in my RX7 and thought it well balanced, been ina couple of 500bhp rotaries with big single turbos, but they were too laggy for my liking...

Nothing, nothing, nothing, then BAAAANNNG...Kicked up the arris by a giant boot.... :D

My mate's RX7 with twin turboed stroked  tricked up LS7 V8 motor is on Dave Walker's rolling road this evening as I type....(waiting for a text with numbers....)

He had 684bhp normally aspirated, if he doesn't see nigh on 1100bhp I'd be surprised.... :0    :t-up:  :t-up:

I have a tentative plan for a LS motor with just a cam and a reliable 450bhp in my RX8 eventually....

:D  :D

Thread drift again...Sorry.... :bangshead:
