sparky21 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 There's other places that are well worth the trip ETA, I mean Brands, not Oulton I will defo be going to other tracks too lol Quote
SteveH Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Don't know about SteveD but I've only got four days at Oulton this month Quote
Pilot Pete Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I think there are far better hondas out there than the EP3. SimonG tracked an EP3 and it was just a bit too lardy and not really that quick to be honest. I drove it and was very dissapointed. He then bought a DC2 integra and it was far superior. I drove this as well and it was excellent fun! The best civic type R they ever made was the original jap spec EK9 series, but unfortunately they're a bit over budget. Integras are reasonable money though, something like this: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2854807.htm I forgot about this car: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2678672.htm A well respected CRX-UK forum member, saw the car a few years ago. Its got the engine, the bigger brakes and the suspension, wish I had the space and money myself! Quote
nikpro Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Listen to this chap - very good driver and competes in a Honda P.S. StevieD, although you may not think so - works so b****y hard his first home is his business address and then his garage at home! Quote
Blatman Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Fiesta ST... 2.0l Duratec (so lots of tuning options), 147bhp, low mileage compared to the Honda's and having recently driven one, I'm really tempted 'cos it was an absolute hoot... In fact if you can fit a tow bar to 'em and they have the weight to tow the Westfield on the Minno then I'd be 90% certain to buy one, but at budget of 5k an ST220 is also within budget too Quote
Steven (WE51STE) Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm surprised no one else has suggested a Mk1 MR2. Quote
SteveD Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm surprised no one else has suggested a Mk1 MR2. be=cause they are piles of crap all rusted away in scrap yards Quote
lippydave Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm surprised no one else has suggested a Mk1 MR2. be=cause they are piles of crap all rusted away in scrap yards If yer thinking MR2 get a JDM fixed roof Mk2. Jap imports with non-rusty body and a current race series so loads of bits available to tweak for the track. (I just sold a nice one cheaper than pre-cut chips last week, the buyer is going to be using it for hillclimbs down in the south west)..... Rogue Motorsport in the midlands sponsor the race series and do all sorts of bits for 'em. Not particularly fast in overall terms, but very involving to drive, very precise and a nice ultra cheap way of getting to grips with typical mid-engined handling characteristics at a bargain basement price.... PS SteveD wish I'd knew you still had the Civic for sale last week....Was looking for a cheap fun hack.....Bought a nice RX8 instead, which is nice but drinks more than me, Oliver Reed, and George Best put together on a night out on the lash.... SteveD Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 yeh there not the best wuv ,you better take out shares in a oil company aswell because they drink that to Quote
sparky21 Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 lot of car for the money though I think, and mazda are always up there in reliability reviews.... Anyway unless someone can really convince me in getting a clio? I think I am going to go the Type r route....... Quote
SteveH Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 They are more fun to drive, what else do you need to know? Quote

The car in the link looks resonable, Honda put a Lot more effort into the DC2 than the EP3. Quote
