sparky21 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 i have a cat d 03 type r mega low miles for £2800 Right I think I have finally decided to go down the ep3 route, but Steve with lets say around 2.5k ish what are my best options and what would you/everyone suggest are the most important parts to start with.. Me thinks as below in no particular order 1. Brakes ( discs + pads ) Which ones?? 2. suspension ( have had a look and god a decent set of coilovers are crazy money.. any other sugestions? ) 3. wheels.. I have got a few sets of 15" tyres, slicks and wets so was thinking getting a very cheap set of 15's 4. obviously once completly stripped interior poss a roll cage but think will be to many £££'s 5. strut braces and polly bushes all round 6. exhaust ( again very dear for a decent one ) 7. engine mods ( steved? which are most cost affective ie most bhp per buck lol ) anyone think of anything ive missed there? This company http://websites.uk-plc.net/DMF_Performance_Parts_UK/ does it with their engines...Can get upto 2.65 ltr (with stroker kit) and 310hp!!! Quote
SteveH Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Don't want to throw a spanner in the works but in my view the Clio is a much more suitable trackday car than the Civic. The Honda would make a great road toy for occasional trackdays (but then so would the Clio!) but if the main aim is trackdaying I don't think it's as much fun as the Clio. Quote

The civic struggles with low revs, so slow bendy tracks are a no-go for it... However faster tracks with high speed cornering-I think then the clio wouldnt stand a chance... (Just my opinion-I did own a civic type r tho, but have driven a clio 172 cup ) Quote
sparky21 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 99% of the track days will be at brands hatch...... Quote
