Hang-a-banger, on a Westfield club site, how come nobody has sugested a Westfield yet?

MX5, every day of the week. I haven't noticed any extra attraction to men since getting mine, but I have changed my hair products!

And when you're done, you can build a westfield out of it. Bonus!

Track Car = Fun = Rear Wheel Drive IMO.

I know everyone blows their own trumpet about their car but we bought ours for 5 and every garage we've taken it to say it's the best build quality of any kit they've seen, built by an ex-McLaren engineer with F1 electrical fittings, the whole car is very tidy for 5k. Electrics are stunning. Admittedly it was a bargain being sold at about 1/2 the market value at the time but bargains are out there from people who buy these as toys, don't use them and just want them out of the garage.

There's some slightly ropey ones, but a bit of work and they'd make a nice trackday toy:

There's even a few nice looking ones on the site here for sale around the 5k mark.

For pure speed and fun, bang for buck, you'd have to be looking at motorbikes to beat a Westie. Would rather have an open top kit than a tintop any day

You might just squeeze a "dog c*ck" red 182 Trophy in for 5k. Awesome handling.

Oh yeah! The clue's in the title! Even so, Westie and a rain jacket

Can you still get beaten up old MKII Escorts or have they all been snapped up by rally enthusiasts and the price has rocketed?

Clio 182, MG Metro Turbo, Escort RS Turbo, Capri, Opel Manta, Citroen AX GT, a proper Mini, Suzuki Cappuccino, MX5, Seat Leon ... loads of toys out there

Or a 182/172 with some coilovers and pocket the change over a trophy?

I am massively biased, but for a £5K tin top, it would be a Honda CRX or 4th/5th gen civic with a bit of money thrown at the suspension and brakes.

Cheap to buy, revvy little engines and a good base chassis to boot.

Second this choice.

or what does everyone think would be a good (cheap) chassis to start a bike engined track project, lightness and a decenct handling chassis? maybe a bit different than the norm, ie mini's etc....

I dont have to go down the BEC route only an idea, am also thinking to start from shell and do a bike engined track car 5k will not get me very far at all?
