A man trapped in a hairdressers body maybe ?! :p

Go for an MX5. Cheap, easy to work on, handles well, less than 3k, easy to get parts. Plenty of them around. There is a reason it has been the worlds best selling roadster for over 20 years.

there chuffin crap ,handle like a dog turd and a dash out of a bad 80's tv series

the engine is one of the best road car engines ever but the car its bolted into is probably in my top ten worst cars even above the elegro

What!?

They are spot on. Handle great and in my opinion have fantastic looks.

Now where is my shell suit top?  :D

I am massively biased, but for a £5K tin top, it would be a Honda CRX or 4th/5th gen civic with a bit of money thrown at the suspension and brakes.

Cheap to buy, revvy little engines and a good base chassis to boot.

Try to get a Honda Integra or a really sorted 306 GTI6.
