I'd of thought that that 'recommendation' alone is reason enough to see the light and embrace the warm buzzy glow that is BECdom :)

Ahem.....

back to BEC`s and torque..............

I`m still a bit sceptical as you know from my past posts so I decided to watch all the cars at the hairpin at Mallory (I even missed one of my runs  )

I`m afraid it was patently clear (to me) that the CEC`s pulled away from this slow bend a lot quicker   :0  :0  :0  :0  especially the rover engined cars who (ahem ) have oodles of torque and the CEC`s *seemed* to brake into it quicker as the BEC`s were still changing down right on the bend.

On the rest of the circuit it all seemed level pegging. Maybe a less tortuous circuit like Silverstone would offer more meaningful comparisons.

This is my impression, not opinion and is not meant to be criticism........................................

and is certainly not posted out of spite cos no-one offered me a ride in a BEC on the day  :(  ;)  ;)  ;)  :p

Interesting Gary Foster has a VX power car with an SBD 208BHP engine. It is built to a similar spec to a BEC ie aeroscreen no heater etc.

The accelaration is pretty much identical to my Busa. He starts to get a little advantage after around 100mph.

At the moment mine corners slightly better but that might change once he has his new arb and front springs.

I love my BEC but I like Gary's car as well, but if it was mine I would have to fit a sequential box :-) In fact if Gary sorted his gearbox out it would probably faster in a straight line.

The cars lap a track within a knatts chuff of each other and cost roughly the same amount of money.

Cheers

If you read the last line of that posting, you'd see that because Clarkson hates 'em, I said it had to be BEC.

Hi Ric

I take it that is without the Nitrous ?

Really interested to see how all this works.

If it can handle track day abuse Ric I could be tempted myself.

Cheers

If you read the last line of that posting

Errrm, I did - hence my comment - but just to clarify....

Clarkson? Oh boy, Mr. perm himself, now that's an opinion to tale seriously then.

Hi Ric, Thought you'd ordered this kit a while ago? How's it going?

Engine arrives today or tomorrow, the turbo items should be only another week or two away.  Slight delay due to Garrett updating their T25 turbo to a slightly more efficient design (+20bhp) so worth the delay.

Max power will be 380 bhp without the nitrous which will be added as this will be even easier now than on the blade engine, and with a turbo, use less nitrous for more power :)

Should be able to handle track day use if precautions are taken.  On the bike these guys seriously abuse it!

For those interested

You mentioned today if I would beable/willing to export turbo systems to the UK.

Absolutely!

I have already looked into it for one individual in the UK that was considering it for a motorcycle.

There is a few options that we can do as far as payment and taxes, one is the use of paypal on the Internet. I know with using regular credit cards and check payments we might entale more taxes and fees.

Also I did a shipping quote with fed ex international, it was a little more that 100 dollars. If you could give me a usable address in the UK I can get a more accurate quote.

Here is the current web page for the stage II Hayabusa turbo system we offer.

Also here is the latest dyno graphs for the upgraded dual ball bearing turbo

This one shows the 437 hp

This one shows the 288 lbs of torque

As far as support goes, I am always willing to help anyone, anytime. And as far as the possible needed modifications for the Westfield cars, if we do find that there needs to be anything done, we will do it.............

You're making me want one of these now ;-)

Any questions you can think of feel free to ask away. I'll be checking on the status of your kit.

Thank you, Kevin

So far his service and support has been very good and can be recommended.

Max power will be 380 bhp

Why??? :0  :0  :0

Unuseable IMO and possibly dangerous in a light car such as westy.

I seem to recall a 330 bhp ZEi220 that was reported to be silly to drive hard.
