R.B Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Me and my brother brought a megabusa last week. The car has 15"oz wheels with goodyear f1 tyres,but most of the cars seem to have 13" with larger yoko`s or avons on them. Also which combination work the best for trackdays. Your help please. Quote

I'm told 13's with taller profile (like AO32R) make for more predictable track day handling. I have the same dillema (for Zetec, not Busa) and I'm going 13" Minilite 6" with Yoko Advans. peterrosey Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Budget option: Ford four-spoke alloys (off Capri etc). Very light cast wheel which is why many racers use them. I had a set powdercoated black and they look respectable. Bend one = £5-20 replacement Ultimate: MBE split rims with magnesium centres (£800 ish a set). Slightly lighter and look the biz. Or go for Dymag all magnesium wheels - even more expensive... I haven't used Avons ACB10s (put off by cost and silly wear rate) but the heavier Yoko 032R (Soft) seems excellent to me. It's also worth noting that for a fraction of the cost of Avon ACB10s you can get a whole stack of ex-race slicks. I paid £70 for a set on Ford wheels! I plan to run slicks dry, 032Rs as intermediates and Avon CR28 Sport (not the stock CR28 which is not a race tyre) as wets for track days. Quote
