banstead Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I,ve just scraped the rear wing of my 1992 Westfield SE and find their is no paint code say Westfield . Its maroon red . Has anyone any knowledge of a paint code ? Les Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 There is no paint code, in fact there's no paint. It's gelcoat, colour is impregnated at mould stage, no paint as such. Coloured gel coat is available from the factory I think, not sure how good a repair it would be How bad is the mark? It may flat down and polish with wet and dry 1500 and some Farecla G3 compound to buff back up HTH Rich Quote
stu999 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 If it is the same maroon as a local club members car, it is a colour that the Factory no longer supports... Have a look in the 'FAQ' section. There is a comprehensive thread there detailing how to repair gelcoat, and IIRC where to source it from too Quote
cast iron Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 My Westfield is maroon, I bought a touch up stick from a local motor factors where they mix it for you. all I can remember is it was a jaguar colour, and the match is spot on. Try a paint shop or motor factors that has some colour samples, they let me take the samples to the car. Start with Jaguar colours and as I say its pretty spot on. Quote
