Mark Stanton Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Just to let folks know - watch out for the following virus - W32.Badtrans.B@mm Over the last few days I've been receiving a number of e-mails from various club members - these have automatically been sent out via their own personal address books, probably without their knowledge. Thats how virus' work. My anti-virus (Dr Nortons) thankfully picked it up and deleted it prior to any damage. But if you haven't got any anti-virus software, get some - it may cause your system to crash (or worse). Many of the club members use work computers & often their computer is work. I've e-mailed the club member from where the first virus was sent, hopefully they will address the situation - But be careful when opening e-mails that have attachments that you are not expecting. Thanks Mark Quote
ACW Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 This is the most high risk virus to users currently. For info go to Info on BADTRANS Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 29, 2001 Author Posted November 29, 2001 And the amount of members that are spreading it around is growing daily - I had 3 e-mails today from members - thats an average day. Dr Nortons is detecting it - available for about £20 - Quote
