Terry Everall Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Kurt If you drove a Cateringvan you would stand a better chance Quote
RWDKurt Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Good point Terry - I can't tell the difference so maybe the organisers will be the same.... Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Nick Algar has now clarified tha it is a one day event only I will most likely withdraw Quote
stephenh Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I wasn't planning on going anyway, but I'm really sorry for those of you who were planning a 2 day afternoon. Quote
RWDKurt Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Very frustrating, but beyond Nick's control. I might still go down for the 29th as I don't have many other options for 10 events. If I go I'll hang around on the 30th and throw rocks at Caterhams. Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Fully support Nick but organisers appear to have not honoured what they originally offered. Problem is this for a one day event:- Bank Hol Sat drive 202 miles in 4 hrs to event ( fuel cost is£42). camp somewhere overnight Pay £100 for event (rather than £180 for the 2 days) Finish Bank Hol Sunday and drive home probably arriving about 2200 to 2300Hrs total cost about £184 for about 6 mins on track assuming 4 runs at 90 secs equates to about £30 per minute ???? Bones Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Only slightly better value than been charged fifty quid for withdrawing from a non confirmed entry (reserve). No names mentioned, Castle Combe zero tracktime, but at least i saved on the 10hr round trip just on the off chance that 6 competitors might drop out Sprinting is s**t, off to look at trackdays Quote
Terry Everall Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Thats not good Paul I often wonder if Rallying is better value for money? Quote
simon besant Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 was going to enter this event but may just hold off as if they do this to clubs before the event what is the organisation going to be like on the day? So will now not enter this event and do another instead. Shame as i was looking forward to seeing some of the old faces. Quote
davidgh Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Have entered -- despite having to pay an extra £20 over the two-day price per day. Sorry to say, I share Simon's forebodings on subject of the "organisation" so far. Perhaps we'll look back on Stowe as a pretty slick event Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Got my entry in a couple of weeks ago since it's on my doorstep. Shame it's only going to be the one day now but it's difficult to comment on that without knowing whether the fault lies with the BRSCC or if it's a restriction MSV have introduced considering it's the first time they've had two different events have been run on the two circuits simultaniously. Whatever I shall just hope for some nice sunny East Anglian weather on the day and plenty of runs Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Last time there was an SS round at the old Snetty a few years ago it was MSV that said no more at the time because it wasn't as profitable as a race weekend or track day event Quote
windy Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Worth doing the Crystal Palace double header that weekend instead? I'm entered Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Worth doing the Crystal Palace double header that weekend instead? I'm entered Probably too late now but I did think about sticking an entry in for the monday But I may now opt for an easier day and just go watch it instead. Quote
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Worth doing the Crystal Palace double header that weekend instead? I'm entered Let me know how it goes Windy, because it might just be a good alternative ! Quote
