Terry Everall Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Would have been even better with even a little bit of organisation Running order was chaotic Nobody called cars forward Timing gear failed several times Some sessions showed times but no car number or name to know who had done what Ran out of time at 1800hrs due to curfew so top 12 only had one run Awards presentation was ill prepared GREAT TRACK made up for it Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Oh dear not too clever on the organisation. I like the flow of the track though. Looks like some high speed could be carried in the corners. I see Duncan's Dax was very fast. Was he on slicks? Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Just to echo Terry's comments and to add, that the absence of any control of the paddock parking did not help any. The scruiteers were wandering around looking lost and dejected as they couldn't find cars to check and the lack of a tannoy did not help either when it came to calling cars forward for their runs. It's a shame there were problems, but I love the circuit and would certainly be going back again. Quote

Unfortunately this was not the case with everything quoted above. Still a very enjoyable day! Quote
peterg Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 The fact it was Silverstone won't have made much difference as it's down to the club/organisation running the event to ensure it's run efficiently... the WSCC event at Curborough has had the odd wobble with timing gear playing up sometimes but the paddock organisation and calling competitors up for their runs has always gone pretty much like clockwork thanks to a great team of volunteers from within our club and long may that continue Quote
