I had the opertunity of a photoshoot today with a car that for me is one of the most iconic and beautiful.

I had the privalige to meet Phil Hill a few years ago with the car at Goodwood he was a gentlemen and the car was eye wateringly stunning.

See what you think.

Agree - absolutely stunning - I love these detailed models and the skill of model making - good friends father made esquisite models and they are a thing to behold!

Sadly Mr ferrari's policy was to scrap all his old F1 cars once they became redundant .

The sharknose was a real beauty which today would be priceless .

Chris Rea had a replica made from plans and one another re created in Belgium afair

lovely model

The detail on this model is ridiculous belive it or not the gear lever moves through the gates along with the linkage moving to the engine, the suspension is fully articulated and the bolts holding the uprights to the wish bones are actual bolts and nuts, the pedals are all spring loaded, the diff operates and ontop of the front uprights are minature ball joints.

And here's the killer if you press down on the acelerator pedal the butterfly's in the carbs open!  :t-up:

it is truly amazing especially when you consider this is in 1/18 scale, ive just finished building a Caterham JPE in 1/12 scale and this was a challenge I cant imagine working in this scale!

What a beautiful car. I met Phil Hill years ago , when he was walking round the Donnington collection with Tom Wheatcroft. real gentlemen. Tom wheatcroft even said I could have one of his Auto Unions ......... for 12 million :)

how about this for a model, 12 years to build and even the engine is a scale model and runs

The detail in both cars is superb.

There are a lot of very skilled people who have the patience to do this. I often go to model engineering shows to have a look and the pieces people make are jst terific. From steam engines through to fully functioning jet engines and everything inbetween.certainly beats a playstation
