Buzz Billsberry Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Its been around a while there's also a Segaris with an LS7 They were both at Chatsworth last year if fact I've just got this months TVR club mag and they'll be both there this year fantastic installations. I'm looking at putting the LS3 engine in my Tamora (same as Holden VXR etc) but thats a project further down the road and I've actually bought the Tamora which I'm looking at couple now. Buzz Quote

lippydave Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Chancey's Cerberera has a hybrid highly modded LS3 6.9 ltr engine running trick heads, custom cam, Kinsler ITB's, bespoke handmade headers, trick valve lifters, (He was previously getting valve float with the std roller/rockers)....etc, etc He built it at the workshop where my other pal specialises in putting the LS Conversions into most anything. Chancey wanted to do the pukka 200mph thing first becasue there are a number of people now putting LS motors into TVR's in this country, so he wanted to lay down the gauntlet. He's also currently running 11.2's down the quarter on street tyres, he's hoping to break into the 10's when the weather improves a little and a few more bits of trickery are sorted. Currently doing well over 500bhp at the wheels according to two independent dyno's... Over 200 mph amd 11 sec quarters are pretty good for a car that is regularly used on trackdays, and used as a road car most of the time. Since the original conversion to LS he's put 20,000 miles on her so far.... Another mate went with him yesterday with an LS1 engined Escort Cosworth and ran 174mph, but ran out of gears as he has a much lower ratiuo diff...Apparently he was seeing 7400 rpm in 6th, which is pretty high revving for a 5.7 ltr V8! Just wait until Craig has finished his twin turbo'ed stroked 7.5 ltr LS3, (In an Fd3 Mazda RX7), it has absolutely every trick bit of kit imaginable being assembled.....It's very close to running but's he's finishing paying work first..... Me thinks that car will be an exercise in chasing the weakest link for a short while ....Driveshaft, diffs, propshaft, gearbox and optimising it's traction vs wheelspin vs breakages before he beats Chancey's quarter mile times... It makes for a bit of friendly rivalry tho;.... Quote
