chris7273 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Hello all, Maybe a long shot but who knows... My Westfield is my pride and joy but it's not the best for navigation and regularity rallying... I am looking for a Triumph GT6 (mark 2 if possible but mk 3 is also ok). If a member knows a good one (no rust, reliable) in his area... ... My budget : 4-5 k Thank you
mark.anson Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Best bet would be to try the Triumph Sports Six Club. They used to have a show every year at the Stafford County Showground where there was allways a selection for sale.
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Or even pop along to the Race Retro show at Stoneleigh this weekend. Always a selection of classics for sale there..........
leighc Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I'm pretty sure Chris lives in Belgium, so a quick nip down to Stoneleigh is probably a little extreme....

Stoneleigh is not "next door"... I'll be there in May for the kit car show. Thank you for the TSSC : i'll have a look on their calendar
Bob Green Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I served my Apprentiship on Standard Triumph of which time, the GT6 was launched. A great car but the weight of the engine played host to memorising under-steer. I still (somewhere) have the notes I took following a factory training course at Coventry.

If I find my GT6, it will be for touring and amateur navigation rallying, so the car won't be driven hard (a reason to keep my Westfield !) and understeer shouldn't be a problem . I know the GT6 is a car with a sporty design rather than a sports car... I like the design, it is quite rare on the continent (vs the Spitfire), seems easy to maintain, "weatherproof" (at least no leaking hood), low reving engine with good torque... There was one nice blue on pistonheads : sold within 3 days ! the purple one on pistonheads seems a little bit battered...
Bob Green Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Christophe Keep in touch, there is a chance I can help you with bits and bats. The old brain still has some memories. I saw that Blue one. Nice.
