Noble Lotus 23?

Thought I would use the extensive knowledge of the boardroom to find out a few things about this car, IE:-

How much for a road going example? it's rarity? etc.

Please feel free to comment.

Noble 23Following the success of his Ultima GTR project, Lee Noble created a Lotus 23 replica with a wider track than the original to allow for true two seater use. It proved very successful in racing, with over 60 cars produced using either Lotus twincam or Renault V6 engines. Noble's version continued in production, first by Auriga Design using an Alfa Romeo engine and transaxle, and now by Mamba Motorsport near Oxford, UK using Ford Duratec Engines.

but that's now also out of production

You know, Google is a wonderful thing, did you do a search?  :p

The Noble/Auriga 23s have been out of production for some years now and were always an unusual sighting. They do occasionally surface at wildly varying prices. If it's the general look/feel of the car you're after, Tiger Racing have a car based on the Lotus 30 which might be worth considering. They advertise a factory built one  for £25k.

The Crossle 9S is also a lovely looking car and fairly widely available though not sure if any have been registered for road use...

Cheers for the replies,

I did do a Google, seems they made 60 + examples some of which are track cars and some are road legal.

It seems the son-in-laws Westfield X1 is now a Noble Lotus 23?

Sorry for any confusion.  :bangshead:  :bangshead:

Due to the fact my Dad is a 23 dreamer, I happen to know that (until last year anyway) the Noble 23 replica rights are owned by this company:

Another one that was also available is the Martyni which has a steel momocoque. But not seen that for a while.

If you fancy building one yourself with a scratch chassis -Glassfibre chap on the industrial estate down the road from me has a full set of moulds for 23 body.

Must admit the thought of building an SCCA Olds rep has appealed from time to time for a bit of hills sport

There was also the Martyni 23 amongst others

Westfield made 6 23B replicas, with Kent FF1600 engines and Hewland gearboxes, all were sold to the States, I tried quite hard to find one about 4 years ago, no joy

The Tiger is a 23B replica with a slightly modified nose which is a little more reminiscent of the 30. It's also available with a turned up tail reminiscent of early Can Am cars, as standard it comes with a Zetec and and Hewland, no syncromesh, so a pain on the road.

Since the advent of the recession the Mamba is out of production, for the road it was available with the turbocharged VW engine and their own transaxle, up to 300bhp made it quite quick

Xanthos Cars will make you a re-manufactured 23B complete with historic racing certificate, they also offer a road going version which complied (don't know if it still does) with UK regs, e.g. dual braking systems, etc

Their price list is pretty comprehensive
