SimonT Posted November 21, 2001 Posted November 21, 2001 Hi, I found this today.... http://www.guysworld.demon.co.uk/cars_renaultf1.html Now this is what I call seriously silly! ST Quote
Peter Cox Posted November 21, 2001 Posted November 21, 2001 Yes, but how many cup holders has it got and does it have those natty seats that fold into the floor? BTW, I don't own a people carrier...yet. Quote
GaryC Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 I saw it on track before a GP several years ago (c1994?). It was built (in part) for Frank Williams to be able to experience the modern F1 'experience'. It was the then Williams Renault F1 engine/gearbox/rear axle etc with an espace body over it. Lapped silverstone 'only 10-15secs' slower than the fastest F1 car in that days warm-up session :0 Imagine the noise! - F1 engine in an enclosed body!! Quote
Clive Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 I am positive that my 2l 16v Espace running on Optimax will give it run for its money Quote
Midds Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 But stripping and rebuilding the engine every 500 miles - nice! Midds The Home of the Westfield Megabusa Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 I've seen it too, i think i've got a phpoto somewhere Ford also did the Supervan in the seventies, a transit based on an F1 car just what white van man needs Quote
Horsebox Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 Yup, and Ford did a Rally Transit too within the last couple of years. I believe it had 4wd, a turbo etc etc. Remember reading an article in some magazine where an ex rally driver was thrashing it down a stage and said it actually wasnt that bad! Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 ....But is there any room for the dog and kids? How did it score for shopping practicalilty in the Driven shoot out? I think I'll stick with my Reliant Robin Turbo! (sorry, missed out diesel) Buzz Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 I was @ a track day @ Croft April 99' and there was a Reliant Kitten there with 350bhp Cossie turbo and 4x4. left a lot of the Scooby and Porsche boys looking a little sheeppish in the paddock ...Power to the nunney thats what I say!!
