As an owner of a lightweight sports car with a 220 bhp, 1700 cc engine they do nothing for me.

American Muscle cars don't normally do much for me I do like the Model T Hot Rods

Couple i liked, truck looked good but still dont pull the same weight as a british truck.

Its no wonder there is fuel shortage.

Dont forget, every man to his own! ;)

Hope all are enjoying themselves Clark.

See you when you get back mate. :D

I love 50's and 60's yanks. Definitely would add one to the collection if I had the space.

Where was this Cleggy?

I went to Hot August nights a few years back. There was some stunning cars there.

Thanks for posting the pics Cleggy, I get to see a good number of Muscle cars here in Canada. Dont particularly want one but admire the work that goes into them. Anytime I meet a guy with one of those and I am in the 7 it becomes mutual admiration time, talking the same language....

OK - you knew I had to weigh in at some point, didn't you?

The white Corvette is a real beauty, especially the interior.  Gotta love the lap belts that helped ambulance crews find your body when you crashed.

Had a '56 Chevy Bel-Air (second to last photo, blurred) in blue over white (albeit without the blower).  Notice the pedestrian-impaling hood (bonnet) ornament - anyone jaywalking didn't stand a chance.

The Pontiac convertible with the fender skirts is quite pretty, but the '67 Mustang coupé in that pea green never did anything for me (the '67 fastback model in dark green, however...!).

Love that red '34 Ford coupé, always loved the grille and overall shape, fab car.

The Stingray dragster is an abomination to mankind and its owner should be shot.

The Chevy SS pickup: Burn it with fire.

As far as the US trucks not hauling as much as Brit trucks, not sure, but then again, they're not speed limited to 56mph either.  Nothing quite as sobering as driving on a desert road at 80 and looking in your mirror to see a fully loaded Kenworth bearing down on you, all while remembering Steven Spielberg's first movie, Duel.

Thanks Cleggy!

I have been there a few times and there are some really nice cars there. You either get them or don't. What is unquestionable is the standard of finish and the pride the owners have in them. The other things you see is the different approach to the cars and the driving. I was there when a duece coupe with a blown 440 hemi drove off, litterally smoking the tyres for a good 100 yards or more. Whne it came back the guy driving was late 60's early 70's and told me this did 10 second quarter miles on street tyres which for such a car is incredible.

I love the atmosphere down there on a night
