cast iron Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Good start to the new series, loved the Atom, but £ 150,000 for a track only car, who would buy that ? They said previous v8 only was traack only but work on this engine was useable on the road? Quote
Major Stare Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Good show Clarkson in the Yeti, where the satnav retraces your route had SWMBO in tears Spoke to Atom last week, the V8 demo has done 8,000 miles and could do with a rebuild, its getting a bit smokey. Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Yep a good start to the new series I'll let you know how good this weeks show is after my trip to the studio on Wednesday. Quote
Tigger Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Throughly enjoyed that one although it's a bit hard to believe that the Stig is only 3 months old .... Come On Quote
John XTR2 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I have seen and heard the V8 Atom in the flesh on my freinds Dyno last October during its development, it was a very "under wraps" project at the time and was mostly Dyno'd after 10pm! till the early hours of the morning. Ariel (Tom Siebert) were with the car along with John Hartley (Engine designer and manufacturer). This is a very special car with a pnemaitic 6 speed gearbox, it flew through the gears on the dyno and sounded spectacular! Wayne Scofield from Chipwizards in Milnrow mapped the V8 Atom and he has also recently done the Special "Mugen" edition. I believe more work is to be done on the V8 Atom with more CC's... Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Enjoyed it as well. I think the new stig must have a few better lines round the test track as the times are coming down for all he was involved with on it Quote
matt_c Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Yep a good start to the new series I'll let you know how good this weeks show is after my trip to the studio on Wednesday. Again? Now I'm jealous. I've tried for years to get tickets and have now given up. Clearly you've got sources others than Applause Store. Matt Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Now you're not going to believe this. We watched the hampster explain the VW was going to be dropped 1 mile whilst the porker was going to be driven 1 mile. As the beetle was falling through the air HM says "Oh there's no one in it, how are they going to drive it when it lands" If she was blonde I would understand..... Quote

deanoecosse Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 So, speculation as to the identity of the new Stig? Looks to be pretty small & slender, even female like, Sabine Schmitz?? Quote
