adamnreeves Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 I can get you it done for £300 ish and imho a better map than superchips If this comes to fruition Jeff I'll be beating down your door. Quote
Arm Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Had a company 3L V6 TDi A4 Quattro 240 ps and it was brilliant. Fuel economy when driven sensibly was around 48 mpg (50 was possible). 4wd was a bonus in all conditions and made the car very sure footed and an absolute hoot away from junctions (also very safe if you needed a quick getaway) I miss that car a lot. Steering and gearbox felt heavy at first but you soon got used to that. So you need to spend some time in it. Suprised my mate who had a chipped V6 2.9 L Turbo Saab 93 when it passed him. Quote

What performance and MPG improvments would you expect to see? Quote

Jenko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I think each mark has their individual merits, but at the end of the day it really is down to the buyer...just get what you fancy. Everyone will have a reason to favor one brand over the other. For me I've had a passat, A4, A6 and all have had the 1.9tdi engine and been totally reliable (even at 208000 mile on the A4). A friend of mine had a new shape 525d estate with M pack, stunning car, but nothing but trouble - turbo, went, air bag light cost 600 quid, tail gate kept opening, plus more - BUT, I'm sure others have been totally reliable. For a refreshing change I've just sold the A6 and bought a honda with a 2.2 Ctdi engine. Will see how that pans out, but enjoying it thus far. I love the A5, and can't imagine a more rounded performer than the 3.0tdi quattro. They look great too. Quote
Blatman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 A5? Pig ugly... and the 4 door is even worse. A8 diesel has just found it's way on to my list for possible new hack though... Quote

Tubs Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The A5 3.0TDI 5 door is top of my list for next sensible car. 4 wheel drive with the Audi DSG gives performance that many petrol cars will struggle to match and, while I accept that the BMW is the better driver in terms of driver involvement, for 95% of the time the Audi will be eaiser, more comfortable and more reliable than the beemer. Better tow car as well. Tubs Quote
