Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Wonder why he was videoing the journey though? The way he handled it, I wonder if it was an unmarked plod mobile? It's what I'd assumed. It's surprising how much time you actually feel you have in those situations; I always thought it was just another movie cliche, but when that huge jolt of adrenaline andother goodies hits your system it really does weird things. RedditchJay Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 so lucky..... 2 seconds later and he would have been under the trailer Quote

I have been in situations whereby time seems to slow right down. I watched a programme on the Discovery channel once that explained it. In a sense time does pass more slowly and adrenalin is the key. Essentially your processing speed of your brain gets over-clocked and you can process a lot more from your senses in the same time and hence the perception of slow-mo. The human brain is amazing. I have to say I have never suffered from my brian working too quickly - I struggle to get it to work at all most of the time! ..........But yes; it always works in slow motion giving me the reaction time and co-ordination of a baby elephant. Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I have been in situations whereby time seems to slow right down. Essentially your processing speed of your brain gets over-clocked and you can process a lot more from your senses in the same time and hence the perception of slow-mo. The human brain is amazing. Yup! A long time ago I was driving along the A40 in Perivale past the junction with Perivale Lane near the Myllet Arms pub when a female travelling the opposite way in a Mini van turned right into a side road across my path with the inevitable result that I hit her n/s rear corner with my n/s front and spun her around. My car was sent sliding to the left and eventually rolled on to the driver's side where it continued turning until it stopped. From my position in the driving seat it all happened in slow motion and the car didn't roll; the world rotated beneath me and I ended up still seated at the wheel with my foot so hard on the brake pedal that I didn't slump against the door until I released the pressure. It was in 1967 and her name was Judith Dale - that sort of stuck in my memory somehow. Quote
tex Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Wonder why he was videoing the journey though? there are some video systems in cars that run all the time for insurance purposes - iv been toying with it - there has been some instances of some knobs on the road i would of needed the video.. didnt have it..
