dombanks Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 does anyone know where i can get a new body shell for rc cars? one is a 1/10 battery tamiya 4wd car, currently a focus in the red and white valvoline decals the other is a 1/10 cen petrol powered 4wd (belt diven) that is a silver mercedes lemans type car both shells are a bit battered and iwouldnt mind a little something to keep me occupied. my hobao hyper 7 is another matter and i think is going to need all sorts of bits i might be better just buying another kit for this one. Mark (smokey mow) Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Tamiya bodyshells are a pricey option but they do have the best scale appearance compared to any of the others. When I was racing in the Tamiya Eurocup I had to run only tamiya spare parts and bodies but soon found it was cheeper to buy a complete new kit, for the body, wheels and tyres then sell the remaining spare parts to the other competitors in the paddock normally making a profit If you're not too woried about having a true scale appearance then there's plenty of aftermarket shells available from various companies. most scale saloons run to a common wheel track width and similar wheelbase and so should be a relatively straight swap. I'm not to familar with cen, but best advice is to take the chassis along to the shop and see what fits and looks best. Quote
