single axle or twin for trailers

Recommended Posts

Towed all over Oz with both single and twin axle caravans, horse floats and trailers.

I have seen just as bad rollovers following a blowout on a twin axle as a single. Depends on circumstance, trailer design and driver experience.

I have had a blowout at speed on a single axle van and had barely a twitch.

I currently have an all aluminium single axle trailer for carting the Westy around. Its fitted with independent suspension and is a dream to tow, very light and easy to handle. For such a light car I wouldn't bother with a twin axle.
