Northampton Motorsport Pre sales check for Westfield owners.

Northampton Motorsport can now offer a 2 tier pre sales vehicle check that will help sellers achieve a good price for their car and give prospective buyers peace of mind about what they are actually getting for their money.

The used car market like any other can be devalued by a minority of sellers who either miss  represent what they have to sell or don't actually know it’s real specification or performance level  so just quote what they think it should be.

Authorised Dealers and higher profile used car outlets have pre sales check lists, for instance Vauxhall's Network Q, that aim to let buyers know that they are getting a good car that's been well looked after and is at least what the seller says it is.

To this end we plan to offer a dyno and basic engine health check where we will look at items, such as oil & water levels and condition and carry out a compression and leak down test which will give as good an indication of the engines health as possible without actually taking it apart.

In addition to this we will list the specification as far as we can reasonably see it on the day, i.e. if it has carbs, what make and size are they, if it has injection, is it throttle bodies, standard management and so on. We will also take photographs of the engine as it appears to us on the day and these will be added to the documentation the customer receives.

 

Finally, we will run the car on the dyno and provide power and torque plots to verify the engines actual performance.

If the owner wishes they can upgrade to level 2 inspection which, as well as the engine health check will include a general vehicle check over to cover safety and function items plus a geometry measurement and report on tyre wear and general suspension condition.

For both services all the documentation will be presented in a handy plastic folder than can be used to hold all the other relevant vehicle paperwork together in one place and we will also retain copies electronically.

Included in the report pack will be 2 vouchers , each  offering a 10% discount on any future  repairs or upgrades the new owner may want us to carry out in the following 12 months , by this means the seller can not only verify his car and potentially optimise the selling price but also add future value for the buyer .

The level 1 engine check will retail at £100 plus vat and the level 2 engine and chassis check will be £200 plus vat.

In view of our long standing relationship with the club and the fact that this idea has been developed from an initial suggestion by the club committee we will apply a 20% discount to any WSCC member that wishes to use the service

Both services can be provided by appointment on a while you wait basis.
