dave_t Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I'm planning on using Metal Ready / POR15 / Chassis Black on some rust spots over the winter, but their spec sheets recommend use in temperatures above 18degC. I'll be using it in an unheated garage! I've not used these products before ... can anyone advise on whether I'm ok to use them with the current weather? Anyone got any experience? Thanks Quote
perksy Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Have used the Metal ready and the POR 15 and was pleased with the results Did this during the winter a few years ago and i warmed up the garage with a couple of heaters before using it Also make sure you read the health & safety data with regards applying it, as it sticks like s**t to a blanket.. dhutch Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Can you not bring the parts inside? Few paints perform or are recommended for use below zero. Else get a £30 fan/halogen heater on the job? Daniel Quote
dave_t Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 Thanks No ... unfortunately it's bits of the chassis that need painting; and my wife isn't happy to have the Westie in the lounge! My garage is quite large and draughty, especially at the moment So it looks like I'll wait for it to warm up a bit, and get a couple of heaters to see if I can get it warm enough. Quote
dhutch Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 IR Halogen then, imo! Few more ££'s than the really cheap fan heaters but ive been meaning to buy another for a long time after dad killed off my first one driving over it! Daniel Quote
Mark B Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 You might be best hiring a small space heater for a weekend, they are ideal for heating largeish spaces... Quote
