blue_toaster Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I'd rather drive a grubby car than not drive a clean one Quote
stephenh Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Well, after about 3 speed series events, or after a long blat on muddy country roads with the Cannock gang ( ) I usually wash my car. I start with a bucket of hot water with some car shampoo in it, then I rinse it off with a bucket of warm clean water, then I wipe it all off with a shammy leather cloth. Takes me about 40 minutes. I then think it looks the dog's b*****ks. Is that detailing? Quote

windy Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 If you don't know people personally then there's the temptation to try to wind them up on forums and succeed. It usually results in a bun fight. I think most people on here have already met eachother in the pub or at speed series events so there is more likely to be friendy banter and P**s taking. Quote
h4muf Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Might it be that a lot of the people who post on Pistonheads are young loud mouths, the sort who drive round town centres in the evenings with megawatt sound systems in their hatchback, and the windows wound right down so everyone can "enjoy" their "music"? I'd say exactly the opposite. I very rarely post on here, always on ph. On here it's very clicky, too much wuv this, wuv that. Quote
davidgh Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 As a first point, I'd comment that almost nobody on this forum seems to feel the need to prove anything to anybody (except perhaps about behaviour in the shower, which I think we can discount for most practical purposes). People on this forum seem, by and large, to be united (whatever their socio-economic background) by a passion for kit-cars* and, in general, appear comfortable in there own skin, which is a very great compliment indeed. Of course, it helps that the occasional boulschitteur tends to get the treatment he deserves. * I say kit-cars, rather than Westfields, because, after six years of competition in the Speed Series in a car that you would expect most in the club to spit upon, I've always found that, if I have a problem at an event, the WSCC gang is immediately there with expert help. I doubt there is a better club Quote
