Fair enough, I for one think you do an honourable job :)

QUOTE
Have you done any teaching experience? i thought being infront of a buch of kids would scare the living crap out of me but i found it really good.

Cant say i agree with the beginning of that statement Adam, my 3 weeks in work experience and i didn't deal with 1 screaming kid :) Not all kids hate school :)

The teachers of this Country do an absolutely fantastic job IMO.

There is a saying 'Those that can - do; those that can't - teach' - What a load of crap IMO - good teachers are extremely talented.   :t-up:

Second that absolutely

Three members of my family are in various forces and there are others on here who are serving officers.

Take my hat off to every one of them. :)

I can speak for myself mate but i appreciate the thought. yes sure it may seem like fraser is trying to put me off, but maybe hes just exploring the parts i dont know about.

it so happens that i knew/understand most of what he said having seen my own dad come home from work after being forst on the scene to agirl burning to death in her car and there was nothing he could do to help. this did have an effect on him, and it does put negative strain on the family.

i was also warned by my dad my friends might object to him being in the police force, however i had a level headed bunch of friends, yep they were the ones caussing the "trouble" in the street, and a few came to know my dad, but all said to be fair he was pretty sound, however i can deffo see the bad side when people harrass you in the street for defending yourself with the phrase " oh you think your so almighty cuz your dads a copper/pig etc"

again with the torrents of abuse from the same people week in week out, like fraser said, it takes a different kind to put up with that. ive never seen someone as level headed as my dad, part of what makes me so proud of him, if someone spat at me i would be struggling.

this is probably the thing i thought about the most, could i cope with the s**t everyday from people.

Maybe im more emotional than you but in that post fraaser made i didnt see it liek you did. i think it was just an honest response and exactly what i wantedt o hear to be fair. theres a bad side to every job, theres the bads for the police force. some of the things you have just said up there are highly disturbing in my eyes.

You seem to have an issue with the police i guess?

no real issues with the police in general, just with the attitude of a few.

I wasn't speaking on your behalf as i'm sure you are big enough to look after yourself.

Point was the post was negative imo.

I cant think what you found disturbing about my post tbh but if it bothered you i can only repeat, many jobs in life can be great for one and crap for another. It is a career choice which seems to be the stage you are at now, shall i be a teacher or a policeman.

I wish you well which  ever path you choose.

Housebeautician (sorry i cant remmeber your name :D)

Althoug hagreed it may come across as negative, I read it as im sure it was intended, as a look at the darker side, its not all jolly ello ello ello whats goin on here there, taking the kids cider, big drugs busts where everything goes right :)

I just think it was a very humble post made to cover both sides, like i did in my original post, Pros & Cons :)

Granted after reading your second response i take back the disturbing part, but it did seem very heavy handed and unsympathetic, but i cant jibe you for telling it how you think it :)

when it comes down to it, as much as i feel i could be good at being a policeman, frasers post was what i needed/wanted to 1. remind me it isnt all ello ello ello and 2. to give me some enthusiasm to continue at uni by saying what the original appeal was for me to become a teacher.

As always everyone's opinions is always welcome to my posts as that's why i post here, theres a varied bunch of people here from all walks of life that always have something to say whether good or bad :)

And when i finish uni i will be buying a westie, im hell bent on it :D

Although it may be called the VSCC (Varied Sports Car Club by then :D)

Anyway im rambling

Fraser your welcome :)
