adamnreeves Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Don't believe in Karma. If I had been passed these Build stands for free I would have passed them on for for free but I paid for them. Obviously this tradition you speak off is not as long standing as you think Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 not good its a pity that someone charged you for build stands These are often freely passed on to newbie WSCC Members Quote
Martin Keene Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 doesnt help you but Parcel delivery companies all seem to be fairly poor. The latest time we changed supplier, we had it contracted that any non meeting of delievry SLA = free. It hasnt improved the outcome but it has made it a lot cheaper for us. Yup. At contract renewal time we based our decision on who was the least worst. It was a standing joke in the office... Go on then, give us a laugh, who's least worst. Sh!tty Link are easily the worst in my view, closely followed by that outfit that Fedex bought in ~2007. Quote
Doug Dastardly Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 The week before I picked up my kit a pair of stands appeared on ebay, in Scotland and not far off the road south. Surely nobody else will be interested in these up here I thought to myself, followed by: if nothing else, the postage will put anyone else off bidding. They sold for over £50. Plus any postage. The days of bargains on ebay are over I think. Sorry to diverge, Doug Quote

Sh!tty Link are easily the worst in my view, closely followed by that outfit that Fedex bought in ~2007. Least worst for us ended up being TNT last time, for domestic shipments at least. They'll f**k up though. They always do. For international shipments we use a small independent who are mostly very good indeed. Worst ever were UPS. That's Useless Parcel Service... but most of the major carriers are the same in so far as they are large enough to not really have to care. Fed-Ex, DHL, UPS, TNT et al lose thousands of items every day. But because they carry millions of items every day it ends up being acceptable (to them) that less than 1% of shipments per day reach the intended destination. To us the customer though, it's a sodding PITA. The catch is, unless you value and insure accurately your shipments, all you'll get back is the shipping fee. Your item may well be lost forever. Don't get me started on that particular subject... Quote

lippydave Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Item was finally received today. That'll be down to all the good karma we created by talking about free build stands.... Quote
