adamnreeves Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Paid for 24hr delivery. Transacted it on Sunday night but I unfortunately I pasted the wrong address in their web form. I immediately contact them and they contacted the courier and updated them with the correct address. No problems, you would think! Anyone courier turns up on Monday and of course I ask them what address they have and they tell me the correct one. So fantastic confirmed the correct address. Again you'd think no problems. Well on Tuesday afternoon I had an email message saying that my item is held as I need to pay an addition re-direction fee of £5.50. Why I ask because as far as the courier is concerned they had the right address and I confirmed when they collected the item and they had the correct address at this point so why a re-direction fee. In the interest of not delaying the delivery of the item I decided that I would pay this fee but as far as I am concerned this is extortion. So left p****d off but thinking the item would arrive Wednesday I receive a message saying the item was received at the wrong address. I am so p****d off with this as I took every precaution, communicated, double checked, confirmed, payed extra fees, paid for 24hr. Telephone once, sent 7 emails, chatted on-line with them three times.... The item remains at the wrong address. I had no response to my emails and the telephone call and on-line sessions they said they would get back to me as they need to check with the courier but they never do. I asked to speak to the customer services manager on Wednesday but they have not called me back, I just have an email sent on Wednesday saying that I would be called back within 48hrs which has expired also. What's my next action? Quote
pistonbroke Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 QUOTE What's my next action? chill out man its only a parcel Quote
adamnreeves Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 I was customer services manager about 10years ago. I found it too stressful! Whenever I provide a service I always ensure I meet contractual obligations and strive to exceed this expectation. It does not matter what it is, how much it cost, it's the principle. It may only be a parcel to you but this is an item someone has paid me for and expected it to be delivered in a reasonable time frame. Quote
Mike H Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I've used them a couple of times and never had a problem. Don't cut and paste, that's my tip Mike Quote
Blatman Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Which courier service did you/P2G actually use? Seems from the web site there is a list for you to choose from... Did you pay by credit card? The T's and C's don't seem to mention extra charges for amending addresses, BUT I only skimmed them. Double check them here. Also... QUOTE a.The Consignment shall be accepted at the relevant delivery point and an appropriate receipt therefor shall be given to the Company's representative escorting such Consignment, and such receipt shall be conclusive evidence of delivery save where such receipt is obtained as a result of any fraud, collusion or dishonesty on the part of the Company's representative. If the actual address on the item was correct, then you should have a good chance of some sort of acceptable outcome. However, if the actual item was wrongly addressed, I suspect they will wriggle out the delayed delivery time and offer no refund. They should deliver it to the right address though, but as they will argue that they are "out of contract" for this consignment they won't be held to a delivery time and date and there will be no point in getting cross with them, trust me... For anything else, PM me. I have been in logisitcs for over 2 decades and despite a couple of half million pound contracts and tight SLA's, I still get p****d about just like you have been Quote
ACW Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 doesnt help you but Parcel delivery companies all seem to be fairly poor. The latest time we changed supplier, we had it contracted that any non meeting of delievry SLA = free. It hasnt improved the outcome but it has made it a lot cheaper for us. Quote

At contract renewal time we based our decision on who was the least worst. It was a standing joke in the office... Quote

And was the address on the actual parcel correct or did it have the wrong label on it. This is crucial. If the courier delivered the parcel to a different address than what was on the parcel, then you have some wriggle room. If the courier delivered to the address that was on the parcel but that address was wrong, then despite your efforts to correct the address by following procedure, you'll be fighting a losing battle I'm afraid. You may not win the battle, but we may be able to leverage a score draw. Quote
peterg Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I used Parcel2go about a dozen times earlier this year when selling bulkier stuff on eBay but they all went via DHL (handy as DHL collect from my workplace everyday anyway) and never had a problem, in fact even though I selected standard delivery so 2-3 days there were ALL delivered next day!! I think using Parcelfarce was the problem... Quote
adamnreeves Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Peter you're right. Parcels to go been trying to get parcel force to sort out. Parcel remains at the wrong address. I have now spoken to a manager at Parcels to go and they have agreed that parcel force were wrong but they have agreed to get the parcel picked up, hopefully tomorrow and delivered to the correct address without any additional charges to me and they are giving me a free 24hr uk-to-uk parcel for all the trouble I've had. They've told me that they are using DHL for this now! My other parcel that I was waiting for (an ebay purchase) never turned up was sent on 1st November. Again this was parcel force. So it seems parcels to go are good, the trouble is parcel force. Quote

It's the done thing around here to pass on build stands to newbies for free rather than flog 'em, it's a long standing tradition AFAIK.... Quote
