smithaam Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Looking for some rear lights for my Westfield. Something like this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....EWAX:IT Just wondered where else i should look or other designs etc... Quote
cliveboy8 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I think other people will be along soon and tell you to stay away from these. At least the main housings. They need so much trimming and shaping to fit a Westfield some people who have bought them have given up. I have the proper Westfield supplied carbon effect housings but they are a lot more expensive. Quote
RedditchJay Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 yep.... too messy just buy the real deal carbon lights from Westfield.... most of us went that route and the are good..... easy to fit.. Quote
smithaam Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Don’t really fancy spending £180 on the rear lights any other suppliers of this type of thing? i am just really shopping around at the moment but will need some in the next few months. Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 As the others have already said, they're only as good as the money you're prepared to spend. The ones you've linked too should be fine and have been used by several others on here but expect to spend many hours fettling, trimming and probably swearing trying to get them to fit the rear arches so they look half decent. The alternative is to spend the extra and go for the westfield units that need only a minimal amount of fettling for that final fit. Edit to add: take a look at SVC, Car Builder Solutions or Playskool for similar items. Quote
deanoecosse Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I bought those lights, but the housings need more plastic surgery than Sharon Osborne has seen to make them fit! The lights are fine, but I ended up making my own housings. Quote
RedditchJay Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I had the ones direct from Westfield, still needed a trim to fit but all in all not too bad Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 TBH you can spend hours getting the Westfield supplied ones to fit - not that I would recommend the type you have linked too - I have seen some good results when lights are fitted straight into wings Quote
westy turbo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 My only non carbon items are these really pleased with them, didnt need that much of a work as heard,at least for me Quote
Simeon Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Although not obvious Westfield sell the housings without the lights. I got the housings from Westfield and the lights from SVC where only a small amount of trimming is required to make the lights fit into the housings. Quote
Ciprian Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Are the PlaysKool housings any better? You cant really tell, the pic they have up they look just like the ones from boltonbits rather than the curved shaped of the Westfield ones... A bit confusing as they show pics of both, ie the pic for the fog light. Quote
