Few XTR2 questions

Hi guys, got a few xtr related questions for you

Dont suppose anyone has got any prices for any xtr specific parts? Asked the factory on the phone and was told that a price list wasn't available  ???

What are the seating options? (is it westfield only? or anything thin enough to fit etc) Mine came with some non padded, fibre, fixed back bucket seats and make my back hurt just thinking about them.

Has anybody run a supercharged hayabusa lump in an xtr before?

The car is an ex-racer (never road registered etxc) and came with precious little paperwork, and next to no reciepts. Could someone poke me in the right direction of some info regarding prooving that car is mine etc?   :durr:   (I want to put it on the road)

Whats the difference between road and race bodywork?

Sorry for the barrage of questions    (got plenty more!)

Also, whats it like bombing round in one of these?  :D

Hi DrCage,

Probably best to speak to some of the other XTR owners re: parts

Seating options I would presume are westfield and are usually very comfortable but should you want to change them then any that fits is fine.

Not sure who has supercharged a busa in an XTR, again talk to the xtr guys.

If the car has never been registered, then it will be down to you to register as if it's only just been built and supposing you have a receipt then I would guess that's good enough as proof of ownership.

Road and Race bodywork - Race bodywork is usually lighter and thinner otherwise the same/

Please sir can i answer that one.

There was a super charged one for sale on pistonheads http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2146099.htm

but its sold.

the other route is the turbo, David (XTR2turbo) has done this so have a few other of the XTR2 forum members, It can be done but like any 'custom' system it takes time and money. Why not try the big bore kits ready available for the busa engine.

There are padded seats available (i have them) i think there are also carbon seats as well as i recall, but dont quote me on that one.

r.e putting a race car on the road. The car will have to be IVA'd    This could be quite a chore, looking at your pic it looks like the 'race' nose cone this means the lights will be too low for a start. All the aero mods will have to come off, wing, splitter, diffuser (all to be put on again after the test) and then theres noise and emissions to cope with.

as to driving around well they arent the most practical, would guess if yours is ex racer there isnt a reverse.....

having said that i have taken mine off anyway as it just drains the battery. If you want to have lots of people pointing, taking photos etc whilts you are tryig to drive anywhere, then this is the car for you.

My learned friend DR Cage, are you  a medical doctor, or is it a honorary title?

I can answer the question on the race body as this is what I have. The only difference I could find is the nose cone which has the lights mounted lower. and a little less weight.

I have the same seats as you and find the comfortable for track use. The way the seats are mounted you should have heaps of choice if you want to change them. The only issue I have is with the hand brake which keeps giving me a bruised knee.

I have a near stock engine about 197bhp and the car tips the scales at 483kg. More than enough fun for me at the moment.

I should have sexy photos soon as it is off to the paint shop in a couple of weeks.

I have heaps of doco and part lists. No price though as I just order what I need from the UK.
