whizzingalong Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 Just tried to install the Fuel, Temp and Oil Pressure guages into my dashboard (all supplied from the factory in my kit), however either the holes are too small or the guages are too big !! Anyone else had this problem ? Do I have to try and peel off the vinyl covering and file the holes out bigger ?? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 Simply send it back Westfield are usually good at swapping their supplied parts if there's a problem. You do want a tight fit, so perhaps they may also advise you on fitting - dashes are usually laser cut and quite accurate. If you do anything yourself you may nullify the warranty / guarantee. I'm sure it won't ever be a problem with Westfield to replace and sort out for you - But it may be considered as "unfit for purpose" Quote
Guest Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 I fitted my dials & switches today (standard, covered dash) & most were quite tight. I used a small amount of silicone grease and then 'screwed' them in; I didn't need to take off the vinyl or enlarge the holes. All went ok in the end, except I did have to create a larger hole for the handbrake warning lamp. - Dan. Quote
