mak1 Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 i've seen these avo shocks for sale on find it. Does anybody know if they'd suit my 1990 narrow body as i'm sure i've heard westfield changed the mounting positions for the shocks as they developed the wide body?? http://www.findit.co.uk/cars/kitcar/parts/575017.htm Quote
scott beeland Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 Unless you know the vendor I would be questioning why they are so cheap at a yr old?? And why are they for sale?? Damaged car?? Damaged shocks?? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 Mine are older than one year and look a lot tidier than those Pays yer money takes yer choice Quote
Blatman Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 Shock lengths look OK, with the caveat that without a ruler next to them, it's difficult to know just how long they are, but the proprotions look OK to me. Damaged car?? Damaged shocks?? Damaged car? So what....... Damaged shocks? Always a possibility, BUT AVO's are cheap to refurb, and turnaround is quick. As Mark says, you pays yer money. If you can view them before buying, or get them on sale or return pending inspection, so much the better......... Quote

scott beeland Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 Blatters... damaged car... so what?? Oh it's not worth it at half eleven.... Carry on Quote
Blatman Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 No, come on, I wanna know......... How does a damaged car affect the condition of the shocks? Doesn't necessarilly have to......... Or, was it rubbish shocks that caused the damaged car? Either way it's easily checked/rectified........but as always, caveat emptor............ Quote
RichardOlive Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 They look a bit rough but still cheap at £50. Richard. Quote
Paul Ash Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 AVO rekon £30.00 each worst case senario to o-haul having just sent some up there. Try getting the part numbers which are stamped just by the adjuster knob and then contact AVO who will confirm if they are right. My rears on (1990 SE) live axle were 10" closed bolt centre to bolt centre.(pt no E6 534) AVO tel 01604 708101 Quote
