Norman Verona Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 As above, I had many happy hours going to the pictures watching this truly funny man. He literally made me p1ss myself laughing when I was a kid. Quote
carpetstu Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 SWMBO worked at The Garth in Stafford a few yrs back and served him in the restaurant! She said he was the most polite of gentleman she had ever met! ( ok second cus I am the first ) May one of the true Gentlemen rest in peace Quote
pistonbroke Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 A friend used to do a superb mimick of the Mr Grisdale voice for whenever he answered the phone . Quote
Asterix Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sad news, cheers for the laughs Norm...Albanian holidays will never be the same again Quote
V8grunt Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Still see him with the lawn mower going under water, then knocking the tree over on to the Rolls Royce! Same film saw him fall down the stairs with a tray and not spill a thing! Quote
jeff oakley Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sad loss of a genuinely talented man. His passing has brought back memories from a time long gone where slap stick was king and being a child was a time of innocence. He could act and had a terrific voice. I have never heard of anyone who had a bad word to say of him in work or out side. Will people mark the passing of Jimmy Carr and the like in such a way in the future, I think not Quote
7sRWild Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Ditto to all of the above, really sad loss , many happy memories of sitting watching him with my Mum and Dad, wetting ourselves laughing. A true natural comedian. R.I.P Norman. Thanks for the Laugh's. Quote
lippydave Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Whether or not his vein of comedy is relevant any more in this cynical age, you cannot help but feel a sad loss at a bloke who spent a large proportion of his life making millions of people laugh heartily out loud..... He will have done more good for humankind than most political or religious nutters will ever do .... I still raise an involountary titter every time someone screams "Mr Grimsdale...." in a daft voice.. Rest in Laughter Norman Wisdom Quote
