I was also with A Flux until I tried to queery my renewal.  It is dead easy to get a quote from them but I was on hold for at least half an hour five times and never got through to talk to a human being so I gave up.

I wouldn't go back with them if that is representative of their customer service.

BTW, Blackford, 0151 356 8776 gave me a good price even without using my no claims bonus - useful for when the company car goes and my NCB is required on a different tin top.

I rang and they arranged cover within 5 minutes...

Apparently, and don't ask me to quote coz I don't know "the law", it's illegal to drive without a piece of paper confirming insurance, so even if your insurer says you're insured and gives you a policy no over the phone, technically you're not insured until you receive a paper copy of the document.

Not that you'll ever get caught out, seeings you have 7 days to produce your docs!

I'll get my anorak...hic...

I'm with Graham Sykes, It costs me £159 for my 1300 Westie with a mileage limit of 5000 per year.

I'm upgrading to a 1700 Xflow in the very near future and have approached Graham Sykes for a cost.

As is the practice with most insurance companies, they couldn't give me a quotation for my proposed new engine but told me that there computer told them that it would probably cost me an extra £15 per year for the bigger engine.

This seems a fair bit cheaper than the Adrian Flux insurance and covers an extra 2000 miles per year.

Cheers - Mark

Thanks for the suggestions.

MSM unfortunately wouldnt touch me cos of my accident.

I cant get throught to footman James - always engaged - bad sign.

HHH - £219

Graham Sykes - £203.

Not far off the adrian flux quote - Graham Sykes kept asking of the car was modified!!!!! - i tried to explain that they are all different, she still wanted to know whether it had been lowered or tweaked - this scares me and puts me off, so i think ill probably go with HHH - ANyone any bad expereicnes with them???

So, move to HHH, or stay with Adrian Flux ???

cheers

Move to HHH.........

I have never claimed from them, BUT, cover was easily arranged, and good value. I personally wouldn't use Flux if they paid me.............

Yep HHH

Limited experience, but they were efficient and as you have found, competitive.

decision made then - HHH it is.

cheers and thanks again.

I was very happy with Blackford Bloor.  £126 build up cover for £11,000 worth of parts so far, including transportation cover by trailer, theft, fire etc, also a proper agreed value once it's built.

Their quote of £326 for 5000 miles/year wasn't bad either given the number of "additions" :D to my license and an accident just last year.  There's no NCB element to the cover.

I went with them because of recommendations from people here -  couldn't find a bad word said about them.  So far so good but I don't have any experience of others.

I called HHH after looking at their web site.   Just one minor detail....

I want cover during my build, the web site says they provide build cover, but the hooman on the line said they dont.

I'm going to go with Footman James for the extortionate sum of £152, and £98 for the build phase.

You were talking with the specialist vehicle unit at Peterborough weren't you?

If yes I guess all of us (and especially all those associated with the insurance industry...) are subject to brain strain at times..

ive just changed from adrian flux to footman james. they were £20 more expensive but (240 instead of 220) however they offered full euro breakdown cover, where as adrian flux wanted £70 for the privalige.  Had no problems with service from either but the cheapest is not always the best.

I got my insurance from Sure Term Direct.

£150 for fully comp, on 3000 miles, SD&P, £100 excess, no brownie points - They were good to deal with and gave a guaranteed valuation with a few photo's.

I am with MSM but wont be staying with em as when I did my engine transplant the premium went up twice at over 30% within 2 months! :0  :sheep:  :durr:  :arse:

Mate of mine uses HHH and offer an excellent service!  ;)

Just my 2p's worth!

Cheers

Kevin
