Guest Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 I've completed my scuttle build-up and now need to mount the pressure regulator somewhere (Filter King, 2.0l Zetec, carbs). The manual says to mount it on the scuttle but this means I've got quite a long hose from the fuel pipe to the regulator (similarly from the regulator to the carbs) and I've a feeling Mr. SVA man might have something to say about that In addition, I can see no obvious places for clips etc. Thought about mounting on the side of the coil pack (there's even a free mounting bracket ) except the regulator instructions say it should be mounted away from engine heat/vibration Also thought about making a bracket to hold it above the pedals but this also looks a bit since it would have to be quite tall and does not seem elegant So, anyone got any better ideas and/or pictures (would be most useful) Thanks, - Dan. Pmaltby Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 hey dan, i mounted the regulator on the side of the coil pack (1800 zetec on carbs) on a home made bracket (peice of ally bent to 90 degrees) the build manual says on the chassis member above the pedals which is proberbly a good place but then you carnt get to the brake cylinder and/or the steering column could be close to the regulator. I thing it is down to personel prefference not frgetting to change the filter their must be enough room under the unit to drop the glass out of the way. HTH Pete Quote
Mike Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 we have ours mounted on the scuttle with a piece of braided hose going to the carbs. passed SVA. oh its a 1800 zetec. mike Quote
AndyMoss Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 Whereabouts on the Scuttle - It seems strange to mount the fuel regulator above the fuse boxes - petrol + electrics =bang Quote
FATBOY Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 .......I mounted mine under the nose-cone, on the frame via insulated rubber. If you look at this picture the four bolts you can see under the nose, in front of the carbs is the FK. Quote
