Brucester70 Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Anyone fitted the display out of an elise in there car or can this not be done? Quote
windy Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 No cos the revcounter doesn't go up high enough! Quote
robrob Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 Why not - it goes to 8000rpm?!? Seriously, I'm thinking of building a Westie, and would love to put the Stack display in the dash. From a proportion thing, it should fit ok. Has no-one tried this? Rob. Quote
peterg Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 Stack dashes are obtainable from Demon Tweeks in various forms and there's no reason you can't fit one of these - why does it have to be an Elise one? Â Quote
robrob Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 Cos they've got everything you want in a nice compact little unit, rather than have lots of indicator lights, water temp guages etc spread across the dashboard... I've seen Stack's website, and they do a variety of speedos, rev counters etc, but don't sell the Elise unit off the shelf. Rob. Quote
windy Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 The car in your avatar does not have a Stack made dash. It's from another supplier. Windy Quote
Nick M Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 If you want an "all in one" Stack unit then check out : ST700; and ST8130 Both of these can be had for less money than Stack are asking - if you go and have a look through recent threads, or do a search, you'll find some information about Stack dashes and where to get them cheaper. windy Posted February 9, 2003 Posted February 9, 2003 ST8130 Hmmmm! Nice! Was thinking of making a new wiring loom for the car but this STACK instrument comes with sensors, loom everything. Old gauges very heavy too. I'll get me cheque book!!!!! Nick, You have access to most of the special bits for the Westy in the US - Willwoods, Hawk, STACK etc. How do the prices compare over there? Fancy a new job as a smuggler? Quote
Nick M Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 Windy, drop me a PM if you're after specific stuff.  Brake pads are cheap as chips, calipers are also cheaper.  Stack stuff is no cheaper by the look of it though.  But I got my Stack 8130 from a chap in Worthing (Keith Connolley) a fair bit less than Stack want.  It's new kit, he just splits the dealer mark up down the middle with the customer. Gee - mum's the word  Quote
robrob Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 Err, Windy. I hate to say it but the car in my avatar - ie my Elise does have a Stack display in it (I checked this morning). You are correct in that they have changed suppliers though recently for the dash. To whom exactly I don't know. Rob. Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 Speak to Paul @ Plays-kool Motorsport He's doing  an equiv. to the stack with loads of fuctions and @ an excellent price that will save u lots of Dosh .. 01274 680100 Buzz Quote
windy Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Nick, The deal is done! He He!!!! UK source!!! How much are the Hawk pads over there then? Windy Quote
Nick M Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 I reckon a set of Hawk pads will work out around the $50 mark. Â Haven't specifically checked the ones for Wilwood calipers but it's pretty much dollars for pounds over here. Quote
